According to advance reports, the new Sunflower shade from ShadeCraft is way more than just another patio umbrella. In fact, it’s also designed to automatically move as the sun moves with a solar powered motor. It has sensors to measure humidity, wind speed and air quality. It has an internal GPS and Wi-Fi connectivity that allows users to not only monitor its multiple sensors but also access its camera with ShadeCraft’s app. And of course, it has speakers for streaming music and fully controllable LED lighting too.
But anyone who knows ShadeCraft’s founder and CEO Armen Gharabegian would hardly be surprised he’s created such a “wired” product. He combined two of his passions—technology and intelligent industrial design—when he founded ShadeCraft, and it appears the Sunflower is only the beginning.
A robotics company at its core, ShadeCraft is currently developing other products that improve human life outdoors, and continuously filing new patents for these products.
Meanwhile, Sunflower shades will be available for presale later this summer direct from ShadeCraft’s website for delivery to the consumer in 2018.
