Aquatech, the highly regarded society of pool-building professionals, was established in 1962 when several of the pool industries' earliest leaders agreed that showing a united front meant better business. Today, more than 235 pool-building professionals and more than 200 retail store operators proudly call themselves members of Aquatech.
The national society is a private, independent, and non-biased corporation that is composed of a membership by invitation only. To be accepted, all candidates must pass stringent qualifying standards and must be willing to train often and attend meetings and seminars in order to keep abreast of the latest updates and innovations in the pool industry.
"The Aquatech family of builders constantly provides one another with up-to-date and in-depth information on new products and building techniques in the industry," says vice president Thomas Brown. "We like to think of this arrangement as our network of experts."
"When dealing with an Aquatech professional, you do not have to worry about the experience factor," Brown says. "It is a key selection criterion used by Aquatech."
Over the years, members have won thousands of awards, including honors for design and technical expertise. Primarily, concrete and vinyl liners are used, but whatever the material, Aquatech pool builders meticulously plan every aspect of a job, and they pride themselves on providing high-quality service—even after the project is completed. No job is considered finished until the customer is fully satisfied.
"The most important goal of all Aquatech pool builders is customer satisfaction," Brown says. "In fact, approximately 80 percent of all Aquatech customers come to us by referrals."
