Girner finds that customized luxury is achieved with superb construction techniques combined with a critical attention to detail. A gold member of the esteemed Genesis 3 Design Group, Girner makes every effort to remain in tune with the industry’s latest methods, designs, and technical advances. “Education, knowledge, and experience bring my projects to a higher standard of waterscape design,” explains Girner. “I take great pride in working with the reflective qualities of water to create art in the landscape, and I can only achieve that by constantly refining my skills.
On the project shown here, Girner sought to blend both the home’s rock and cedar architecture with the enchantment of a Caribbean estate. “The more I talked to the clients on our first appointment, the more I understood the size of their family,” says Girner. “I could tell their desire was to create an aquatic environment so that when their family and extended family visited, they would take back memories that would last a lifetime.”
Girner began formulating his design by designing two swimming pools for the hundred acre ranch-style setting. Using native Arkansas flagstone for the coping and the beach entry, Girner connected the pool’s design with the home’s architecture. Girner then created an island theme that features a custom waterslide, a lazy river, waterfall and grotto, and a firepit for cozy evening poolside conversations. In the end, the finished project achieved everything both he and the clients desired.
