Majestic in its elegance, the Caesar’s Palace model features a circular spa on one end and a rounded built-in sitting area on the other. This installation uses columns and planters to provide an air of sophistication, giving the venue an overall touch of grandeur.

Beauty Built to Last

In 1958, San Juan revolutionized the swimming pool industry with the invention of the one-piece fiberglass pool. Today, more than a half century later, San Juan continues to set the bar for the fiberglass pool industry.

The hand-laid structural fiberglass that San Juan uses has a multitude of advantages. Each handcrafted San Juan pool/spa is built using vinyl ester resin throughout its entire laminate structure, making it both well-built and tough. The pool surface is smooth to the touch and repels algae. Maintenance costs are negligible as the use of chemicals and electricity are minimized. Plus, San Juan fiberglass pools are ideally suited for today’s saltwater chlorination systems. “Our pools are permanent and do not require constant remodeling,” says Kirk Sullivan, president of San Juan Pools. “Because the finish is smooth and non-porous, acid washing, sand blasting, replastering, and repainting are not required.”

As a building material, fiberglass is ideal for the production of more than the traditional backyard swimming pool, as it is also perfect for indoor applications. Although San Juan’s fiberglass pools are sold by independent dealers around the world, each pool is manufactured at a factory so extra amenities, such as custom jets, water features, and decorative tile, can be added before delivery, giving homeowners the chance to create poolscapes that fit into their lifestyles.

Even after more than five decades of learning about fiberglass pools, San Juan continues to devise new ways of using the material. Currently, negative edges, spas, therapy pools, and an assortment of other specialty models are available, but the company’s designers are constantly developing new ideas. “What many homeowners have discovered,” say Sullivan, “is that we can use fiberglass in a variety of ways, and not just in the construction of conventional pools.”
